Background Information

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires 4 additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Podlesh and Dr. Mogannam, as oral and maxillofacial surgeons, manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Drs. Podlesh and Mogannam practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our doctors can also diagnose and treat trauma, facial injuries, and fractures.

Surgical Staff

The surgical staff at Santa Clara Oral Surgery are experienced, certified oral and maxillofacial surgical assistants. They have completed California Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical Assistant course and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification. 

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

All staff have completed the American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider. The staff is also well versed in health and insurance policies.
